1. Beginning Blog

Hello everybody. This is TJ. I sit way on the other side of the world in our classroom by Mr. Randle's graduate assistant. Hopefully I'll get to meet most of you before the semester is over with. And now that my introduction is over with, I will start my blog.
This week has been pretty good. My earliest class throughout the week is 925, so that means I don't have to get up too early. I love sleeping in. One problem I did have this week was with my labs. I have a chemistry lab on Tuesday night from 6-9 and a biology lab on Wednesday night from 6-9. I play football, so that sometimes conflicts with my labs since I have practice from 330-530 during the week. Tuesday wasn't that bad because I got out of practice, hurried to eat and take a shower, then went to my lab. I was probably about 10 minutes late, so I didn't miss much and I was still able to complete the lab.
Wednesday night was the real problem. We got out of practice early because we didn't do well and had to keep repeating drills. I got out around 6, and I still had to take a shower and eat. This would make me very late to my lab, so I just decided to miss and hoped I could make it up. At around 645, I headed up to Hederman and went into the Office of Biological Sciences. I talked to a professor there about my situation and he said that I would be able to make it up either on Thursday night or Friday afternoon. I was so relieved because I did not want to miss an important grade. I decided to make it up on Friday afternoon and I ended up doing really well in the lab. I think this experience demonstrated the "excellence in teaching" portion of the syllabus.

Do you know what I like most about teachers/professors? When they don't forget that they did go to college some decades before.
I agree that this means "excellence in teaching."

But I also think that what you did was "excellence in learning," because you realized and found a way to solve your time problem. congratulations :-)

I agree with Lukas. My earliest class is 9:00, but I get up around 7:00 almost every day.
